Research Area:

Statistical Machine Translation (SMT)

Statistical machine translation systems use statistical models to learn how one language is translated into anther. Such models are built from large amount of translation examples. The models are language independent, which means we can develop a SMT system for a new language pair as long as we can find enough bilingual data for training.

Currently, I am working on conversational machine translation system, such as the universal translation system for Second Life
